Maxine Symons

Born in Bissoe, Cornwall, Maxine originally trained as an opera singer at the Royal College of Music in London, but after a long career in this profession she returned to Cornwall and now lives near Crowan, where she creates all her real, cultured pearl jewellery.

Her interest in freshwater pearls developed alongside advances in culturing techniques, as the quality of pearls now produced is truly magnificent. All of the pieces she makes are unique, as are the pearls themselves, and she likes to allow each individual pearl to inspire her jewellery creation.
